The mission of the Unity Parents Association is to provide support to the teachers and students at the Unity Charter School and to promote the Mission of Sustainability within the school as well as out into the community.
Membership of the PA includes parents, legal guardians, staff, students, alumni and Board of Trustee members of The Unity Charter School. We work with the administration and the Board of Trustees in support of the school’s mission, programs and activities.
The responsibilities of the PA are:
Our efforts serve to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential. The PA holds fund-raisers for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction, and provides support for our teachers. Everything we do reflects Unity’s mission of teaching the principles and practices of sustainability.
The PA Executive Board consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer who agree to serve a two-year term. PA committees are run by chairs who commit to a one-year term. To assist parents in developing a meaningful partnership with the school, the PA offers many opportunities for parents to be involved in a wide range of volunteer activities.
Principles of Sustainability:
Reduce / Reuse / Recycle
A conscious and reduced consumption which takes into consideration not only the needs and desires of the consumer, but the future hidden costs to our earth, our societies, and future generations.
