Parent-Teacher Organization

We are beyond fortunate to have a caring and engaged Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) here at Unity Charter School. The mission of our PTO is to provide support to teachers and students, and to promote sustainability initiatives in our school and community. To drive that mission, the PTO holds fundraisers for supplemental educational materials and experiences, while promoting school-family social interaction.

We are always looking for volunteers and the PTO is a great way to get involved.  Make sure to sign up to receive the PTO Corner Newsletter by emailing the PTO at: [email protected]

PTO responsibilities include:

  • Creating a forum for the exchange of ideas within the school community

  • Providing educational programs and assemblies for students and forums for parents

  • Organizing and promoting projects beneficial to the Unity Charter Community at large

  • Community events and fundraisers to help aid in supporting the school, students, teachers, and staff

Meetings & Social Media!

  • All PTO general meetings will be held via Google Meet beginning at 7:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted.  Join in as you can.  All commUnity members (parents, guardians, teachers, and students) are welcome and encouraged to attend.  Your voice matters, mark your calendars. Links to all meetings are posted in the PTO Corner of the Week At A Glance and the PTO Corner Newletter.

Fundraising and Donations

  • In lieu of a membership fee, the Parent Teacher Organization at Unity Charter School relies solely on our annual fundraisers and donations.

  • Our MAIN fundraiser, 99Pledges, is designed to raise most or all of the funds that we need to carry out our regular yearly tasks and supports to the school, students, teachers, and staff. These monies are used primarily to fund assemblies, gifts, and experiences for the teachers and staff during the holidays, Teacher Appreciation Week, movie nights, skate Night, classroom supports, and financial support to the school.  Additionally, many of our sponsored family fun events require additional funding, as we attempt to keep ticket and participation fees as low as possible.

  • We ask every family to donate to the 99Pledges fund in whatever way is feasible.  Keep in mind that donating now will save you time and money from buying individual holiday gifts at a later date.  Our 99Pledges info sheet and links to individual classroom campaigns will be featured in the PTO Corner of the Week At A Glance and our PTO Corner Newletter.
